Our Officers
Raleigh Battalion is proud to have a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers who are committed to building leaders of character. Our volunteers are all screened via background check by our national headquarters and are required to complete annual training. Our staff members are passionate about working with young people and helping them develop into responsible and capable leaders.
Commanding Officer
ENS Nelson Santiago
CO Santiago has 13 years of active duty experience in the U.S. Coast Guard and has been a volunteer in several youth organizations for over 15 years. He is currently the Learning Partner and Leadership development facilitator for Catapult Employers Association in Raleigh.
Supply Officer
ENS Sharon Peacock
ENS Peacock has 5 years of experience with Sea Cadets. ENS Peacock is a working mother of 3. She is a National Sales Director with Vault.
Training Officer
INST Dena Arnold
INST Dena Arnold leads our training regimen, ensuring accurate records for cadets. She is married to her husband, Joshua.
Admin/Personnel Officer
ENS Michele Suskin
ENS Suskin has 7 years experience volunteering with youth programs. She is a homeschooling mom of 5 and has been married to her husband, Jacin, for 22 years.
Operations Officer
INST Joshua Arnold
INST Joshua Arnold has been leading the operations for our unit this year. He is married to his wife, Dena.
Parent Liaison Officer
INST Joel Eaton
INST Eaton is our key point of contact for parents, providing answers directly to those who partner with our unit in building leaders of character.
