What We Do

Drills & Trainings

The Sea Cadet experience consists of a combination of participating in our local unit drills and attending training that provides hands-on exposure to a variety of vocational fields and leadership opportunities. 

Local Unit Drills

All Cadets

Two Saturdays / Month

0800 - 1500

We meet two Saturdays per month at the Joint Forces Headquarters in Raleigh. Every drill day is different. However, our drill days are focused around the following topics:​

  • Basic Knowledge

  • Close Order Drill

  • Physical Training (PT)

  • Color Guard/Honor Guard

  • Team Building

  • Leadership Development

  • Field Training Exercises (2x per year)

  • Preparation for Recruit Training

Trainings

Sea Cadets (NSCC)

Summer & Winter Breaks

All Naval Sea Cadets are required to attend Recruit Training (RT). Once RT is completed, they may attend a variety of advanced training such as:​

  • Field Operations

  • STEM/Robotics

  • SCUBA

  • Cyber Security

  • Coast Guard/Maritime Interdiction

  • Master-At-Arms

  • Basic and Advanced Medical

  • Color Guard/Honor Guard

  • Photojournalism

  • Leadership

  • SEAL/SWCC/EOD

League Cadets (NLCC)

Summer & Winter Breaks

League Cadets are not required to attend training camps, but are encouraged to attend. Example training camp topics incude:​

  • Navy League Orientation

  • Basic Medical

  • Field Operations

  • Marksmanship

  • Culinary Arts

  • Aviation

  • Music & Band

  • Special Operations

  • And more...
