U.S. Naval Sea Cadets - Raleigh Battalion
Who We Are
Raleigh Battalion is the triangle area's unit of the Sea Cadets. The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a youth leadership program built around our highest values of Honor, Respect, Commitment, and Service. Our mission is to build Leaders of Character.
We offer a wide range of training and educational programs to prepare young adults for success in any career path they may choose. Our programs are designed to help young men and women develop essential life skills, leadership abilities, and teamwork skills, while instilling a strong sense of responsibility and discipline.
There are two programs that are part of Sea Cadets. The Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) is for middle school students aged 10 to 13. The Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) is for aged 13 through the end of high school.

Our "League Cadets" are middle school aged young men and women who participate in our introductory program. League Cadets wear uniforms, train in a disciplined environment, and advance through ranks that mirror the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marines. League Cadets may participate in a wide variety of training opportunities to introduce them to the maritime services and a variety of career fields.
High School Program
Naval Sea Cadet Corps
Our "Sea Cadets" are high school aged students who participate in our advanced program. There is no requirement to have been a League Cadet prior to joining Sea Cadets. Sea Cadets wear uniforms, learn about the maritime services and a wide variety of career fields, and advance through ranks that mirror the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. Sea Cadets have extraordinary leadership and hands-on training opportunities.
